Introduction of hydrogen

Major fuel energy today are petroleum, natural gas, coal, nuclear energy (plutonium), waterpower, geothermal energy, biodiesel, and other energy that can be recycle. One day, Fossil fuel may be exhausted, but there isn’t any new energy that has been develop yet; the energy that can protect the environment and it is secured and clean. The energy price will rise inevitably in a long term. After the oil crisis in 1970, many industrial countries turned to look for other replaceable energy. Hydrogen stands out from all the other energy because hydrogen can easily get from ocean. After combustion, the product of it is still water; it is very clean and meets the requirements of environmental protection.

The hydrogen and the oxygen combustion may have approximately 2,600℃ as high temperature. Hydrogen molecules can dissociate into hydrogen atoms by using electric arc or heat up the tungsten. When these atoms recombine together, they may create a temperature higher than 3,400℃. The petroleum we used in Taiwan is all replied on import, and almost every household has a car. The demand of petroleum and the huge environment impact is behind our imagination. Cars bring easy to our lives, so supplies of petroleum and possible replacement is an urgent question. The petroleum price had a big raise a while ago; we need to start to think about hydrogen energy and its’ related problems.
